San Francisco offers a diverse mix of real estate from single family homes to condominiums, lofts, tenants-in-common (TIC'S) and investment properties. Knowing what you can afford and where you want to live are two key elements to narrow your search.

If you already have an idea of what you can afford and where you might want to live, fill either of the following tools to help you see what may be available:

Property Search Form:  This form will send relevant data to me via email so that I can assist you in finding property that fits your criteria.  This form also gives me some valuable information about you and your needs if, in fact, I know of property in other suitable neighborhoods that may be of interest to you.

Multiple Listing Service:  This form allows you to do your own searches and see what inventory is available.  After you have located some interesting properties, please feel free to contact me by email (robinheuer@rcn.com) or
telephone (415-920-8291) so that we can further discuss those properties. More often than not I have seen the property, have some knowledge about the neighborhood, etc. or can set up a convenient time/date to view the property.

If you fall into the other category of most buyers, who know what kind of house they might want but have a vague idea of how much they can comfortably afford to pay for it.  The following tool will help you get an idea of the monthly payment based on the amount you want to borrow, interest rate and term of loan:

Mortgage Calculator: This calculator has you fill in variables to come to an estimated monthly payment.  Based on a monthly payment that you can comfortably afford and your down payment, you will better understand the suitable price range of properties.  This mortgage calculator is not a substitute for contacting a lender or mortgage broker who will help you determine the type and amount of loan for which you may qualify.  There are two general steps in the loan process: pre-qualification and pre-approval. Pre-qualification gives you a good idea of how much you can really afford while pre-approval is the actual amount the lender will fund to you based on financial information that you provide.  Most times, you can get a pre-qualification or pre-approval fairly quickly.  Please feel free to contact me by email (robinheuer@rcn.com) or telephone (415-920-8291) for
information on reputable lenders and/or mortgage brokers.
